Hat Heads

What silly babies I had tonight!!! I wish I could have a video camera attached to my forehead so I can share how amazing and funny my babies are. They love putting hats on and running around chasing each other trying to get the hat off the other one. They laugh so much at each other and love giving each other hugs. I can already tell they are truly best friends. They amaze me everyday and are such a joy to be around.

Abbey's Playtown

I have been so busy with work and life, that I haven't had a chance to post in the last week. We finally got to go to Abbey's Playtown and the babies loved it. We went with one of our new friends Matthew and his mommy. Matthew has been a few times so he showed L&C the ropes. They played in the kitchen, we dressed them up and they kicked around in the bounce/ball house. Abbey's is the perfect place for toddlers to run and have fun. We will defiantly be back soon.

Great Grandma Ryan

Last week Great Grandma Ryan was here for her annual visit from California. She is 89 years old and still travels here to visit us each year. She is very active with bridge, meals on wheels, and volunteers at the hospital's second hand store. We were very thankful to be able to spend time with her. This was her third time to see the babies and I think she was a little overwhelmed with how active they are this time around. She enjoyed talking to them, reading to them and just watching them walk around. I know Luke and Carter enjoyed giving Grandma Ryan hugs and we look forward to see her again this summer when we travel to California to celebrate her 90th birthday.

Four year generations

Aunt Janet also came to visit us. She was here only for the weekend, but I think we wore her out in that small amount of time. Thank you Great Grandma Ryan and Aunt Janet for traveling here to visit us.

The Pumpkin Express

At Pumpkin Express last year

My little pumpkins

My precious Lukie

Mommy and Carter-So happy!!

Daddy with L&C on the train

Carter Tarter

This past weekend we had our annual trip to the Pumpkin Express. This is an event we do each fall with our twins group (FWMoM). This year was much different than last. Last year we were able to set the babies in any position we wanted and take a photo without them moving much. This year, well the pictures above explain it all. It is absolutley impossible to get a good picture with both babies sitting still and looking in the direction of the camera. Welcome to toddlerhood I guess. Despite the mud and a few tears, we had a wonderful day at the Pumpkin Express.

Homemade cloth diaper

Okay, this one has a great story. Well it's a great story now that it is over. We went to grampy's to visit Great Grandma Ryan and both babies had a blow out at the same time. I went to get diapers and come to find there was only one in the diaper bag. I thought no problem I always have some in the stroller for emergencies like this one. I searched frantically in the stroller and the car to not find a single diaper. I couldn't leave the dirty diaper on my poor baby so we had to make a homemade one and hurry home before he decided it was time to poo again. As you can tell the diaper wouldn't do a thing if he were to go in it. I also wrapped him in a towel so he wouldn't get pee on his car seat on the drive home. Luckily the piece of cloth was still dry when we arrived home.
So another lesson learned--Always double check the diaper bag for all essential needs. I now have diapers stashed everywhere.

Fun at SS and Rose park

This morning we had a great workout and play time at the new park. We are just now discovering how to climb, walk up ramps (never knew that was a challenge), and slide down big slides (of course, with assistance). We are excited to spend lots of time at the new park this fall.
I love my Luke and Carter, they are so much fun to play with.

High five's & kisses

Luke and Carter now understand the meaning of 'give kisses'. They are so sweet and will give a kiss almost any time asked, they even like to give kisses to each other. They also enjoy giving high fives anytime they do something good or just for the heck of it. They are getting more and more interactive and really starting to be more like toddlers. They make my life complete.

Stroller Strides

I wanted to share this video with all my blog readers so that when I speak of Stroller Strides or SS you will know what I'm talking about. This is a video our SS group made to summit for Maggie (owner) to win franchisee of the year. I have really enjoyed being a part of Stroller Strides and I'm glad I have had a chance to get to know so many active mom's. I love watching this video, it brings so much inspiration to me. I hope you also enjoy it. Oh and Maggie did win!!! Go Maggie!!!

My little chatter boxes

Finally!!! Both babies are really increasing their vocabulary and I have been trying for a few weeks to get it on video. This video is with my phone, so sorry for its poor quality.

This all started a few weeks ago, actually while they were sick. Luke woke up one morning chattering away. He was so proud and I think Carter was a bit jealous cause it was only a few days before he decided to join in on Luke's conversations. Now they don't stop. They are learning all different sounds and combinations of syllables. I can even understand a few words like, Uh oh, thank you, spider and bear, on top of mama and dada.

They have also decided they like us to read them books. They will bring us one and stand there while we read it to them. They like to turn the pages, sometimes even before we are finished reading. I am really enjoying this phase and feel they are starting to process words and understand objects. Like I've said before, I love seeing their little minds at work. Enjoy!!

Frozen Yogurt & Chocolate Syrup--YUM!

OH MY!!! I think Luke found a new love. To start with neither baby eats very well. Mealtime is very stressful, at least for me, and they seem to be quite picky. Except whenever we are eating something. They are like little birds waiting for their food with their mouths wide open. Although it is very cute, we have put an end to feeding them from our plates in hopes they will eat better on their own. No such luck so far. This is so frustrating for me cause I was determined not to have picky, poor eaters. Well once again they are teaching me that I'm not always in control. They have their own little minds and their own little determinations.

Here are a few pics of them attacking Jeff for his frozen yogurt.
