Carter is a mess....

Literally, every time he eats. Luke is so neat and stays clean, but Carter has to have his face covered. Like I've mentioned before Carter likes to put cloth things in his mouth and this certain night he would take the burp cloth and wipe his face after each bite. I thought cool this makes it easier for me. Then he gets his hands covered (this happens quickly) and next thing I know he is rubbing his eyes, then his hair and even his ears. I just watched and laughed knowing he was going straight to the bath tub. Carter is a very busy baby. He is the kid who wants anything someone else has. If his brother as a teether, toy, book, etc. Carter will find a way to get it from him. I feel sorry for Luke in the future.

Luke discovering himself

I had Luke in the kitchen with me today while I was getting dinner ready. I thought it would be fun to show him how the kitchen is used and introduce him to some new items. He was sitting in his exersaucer while I was writing a shopping list and I noticed he was still but was blurting out little laughs. He found a little mirror amongst all the other gadgets and was staring/laughing at himself. It was so cute and he was so excited. I have tried to get him to look at himself in the bathroom mirror, but he really hasn't seem to interested in it. I guess it was something he needed to discover on his own.

Finally a family picnic

Yay--finally I got my family picnic! Today Jeff and the babies come to my work for lunch and since it was 85 degrees out we decide to get Subway and have a picnic. We set up at Red Kane Park and enjoyed our healthy sandwiches-I am in the process of losing weight so I had a veggie sandwich and apples that left me starving about an hour later. Trying to lose weight sucks, but I'm doing my best. We played with the babies for a while then it was time to head back to work and a nap for them. I love being outside and I love my new family.

Here are some other fun pictures I have taken over the past few weeks. The babies are growing so fast and so CUTE!! (at least to Jeff and I)

Mamaw and Papaw

Today we went over to Mamaw and Papaw's to sit on the porch and enjoy the nice weather. Luke and Carter played with Mamaw on the swing and had fun trying to find the wind chims each time the wind blew. Mamaw and Papaw live next door to us and they keep the babies on days that Jeff and I both work. They really enjoy keeping them (at least as far as I know) and the babies love it at their house. They have a ton of toys and I'm sure they are more spoiled at their house than ours. Each morning I get them up to take them over there I say "do you want to see Mamaw" and they smile and laugh everytime. We enjoy living so close to family and I'm glad the babies have their grandparents here to watch them grow.
Oh and thank you Oma for the cute Colorado Springs outfits.

Cousins Everywhere.

We have a special little boy staying with us for a few days. Cousin Gavin is one of our biggest fan and the babies love playing with him. There is something about babies and children. Every time Luke or Carter see another baby or child they are always interested in them. Gavin is my brothers youngest boy and he is lucky to have two older brothers to look up to. Now Gavin has two babies looking up to him and he loves the idea of being older than his cousins.

Luke and Carter also have another cousin, Havin, who just adores them. When I was pregnant Havin was very excited that "she wouldn't be the youngest grandchild anymore". She enjoys helping with the babies and plays with them like they are a doll of her own. She is looking forward to pulling the babies in her wagon and teaching them the ropes of living in the country.

L&C are two very lucky little boys to have such wonderful family so close to them. Thank you to all of you for all your support and love. We are so grateful to have such a wonderful family.

Reading Books and Sitting up

When I was pregnant I told Jeff over and over that reading to the babies was very important to me. I have always had difficulty reading and I want to do all I can to help them excel as much as possible. Well I feel I have slacked in the reading department and have decided it is time to turn it around. So we are reading as much as possible. They really like all the colors and spend most the time trying to get the book out of my hand. I love it! It is so much fun and I'm sad I waited so long to add this to our routine. Today while reading I decided to try the babies sitting on their own with boppy pillows and ta-da no boppy's needed. It was so exciting and cute. They looked like little old men sitting up tall.

Infant Playgroup

I am a member of a group called Ft. Worth mothers of multiples and we get together often for playgroups. Today was one of the biggest groups. There were 7 mommies there so with our group that means 14 babies including Luke and Carter. We went to Camden and Grayden's house (the only girl set) today to feed the ducks and played with an endless amount of toys. L&C did great getting trampled over by all the older babies and are starting to get more involved in the playgroups. They are the youngest set in our group at this time. We really enjoy our group and look forward to having all the twins at our house in a few weeks.

Duck Pond

The duck pond is a fun place for all children. The big kids bring their stale bread to feed the ducks and squirrels while the babies sit in their strollers pointing and laughing. After a duck attack, we (my friend Martha and her twins) walked the trails for a little mommy exercise then settled off in the trees for our first picnic. I got a picnic blanket/bag before the babies were born and I couldn't wait to use it, I love picnics. It's not easy to feed two babies who aren't quite sitting up on their own yet without a chair of some sort. I know I could have kept them in the stroller, but I was getting the idea, i.e. the fussing, they were over the stroller at that time. We managed like we do with all challenging situations. Just not real sure how much food got in the babies tummies, but they survived. I wanted to get some pictures of our picnic, but it was a little crazy with four babies and only two mommies. Another wonderful winter day in Texas.

Is this normal??

Well yes it is when you have a teething baby! Or maybe not. Anyway, Carter's first tooth decided to peek through today-finally. I'm not saying that cause he is late on getting teeth, actually I feel they are a bit early, but he has been chewing and drooling since about four months. My doc told me they will drool and put things in their mouths until about age 3, they are teething when you see something white protruding through their gums. So with that said I'm not sure why he does this, but Carter is now teething! It is so funny how every time I give him a blanket or cloth of some sort it always ends up hanging out of his mouth, even in his sleep. The little things they do that melts my heart

Bath Time

Thankfully Luke and Carter enjoy bath time. Each evening when the babies start to get a little grumpy, we put them in the tubby and they are quickly smiling again I think they are in competition to see who can splash mommy the most. They really enjoy playing with the little squirt toys and Carter likes to play a game of tug-o-war with the wash cloth-which by the way, I always win. It is funny to watch/listen to him suck the dirty water out of the wash cloth, I figure it's not the worse thing that will end up in his mouth. We are glad they like the water and hope this is a good sign for swimming this summer.

Silly Babies!

I love the sound of a baby laughing and it's even better when it is one of your own. The babies are really starting to enjoy each others company. It may be poking out an eye or scratching a cheek, nail clipping is daddy's job and it seems he is clipping every other day, but they seem to have fun at it. I'm even having a difficult time feeding them, cause they would rather play with each other than eat their yummy pureed veggies-who wouldn't! Well as cute as they are I can't help to have my handy cam carder always rolling, which by the way is now fixed thanks to my wonderful brother (Jeff you are off the hook for now, but I'm sure we will be due for an update sometime soon). I hope you enjoy the videos as much as I do.

Hanging with the Big Boys.

Thanks to the mild winter Texas has had we have been able to spend a lot of time outside. We take weekly visits to the zoo with our 13 month twin friends, Wes and Even. The Fort Worth Zoo is such a beautiful place to visit, they have animals of all kinds and a fun train that is very difficult to ride with twins. Allot of the time the animals are sleeping or just sitting like they are bored out of their minds. This week I was excited to see so many active animals, even as an adult its neat to see wild animals active in their endowment, or a replica of their endowment. Here are a few cute pictures of Carter standing at the monkey exhibit with Wes and Evan, Luke was asleep. They all happened to be in overalls so we thought it would be cute to get some pics.

They said on the news the other day that the ground hog did see his shadow so that means six more weeks of winter, which I find funny since we haven't really had a winter to begin with. So I'm interested to see what happens, I am really enjoying the weather.

Missing our Oma.

Our Oma has been gone for about 2 1/2 months and it seems like forever. The babies have already changed so much since she last saw them. I hate that she's not here to watch them grow. I know she is serving our country, but the selfish side of me wants her here. Well we can't change that she will be gone until Dec and thank goodness for all of our technology she is able to see us through videos and pictures. We miss you so much and can't wait to see you again, in person. Thank you to everyone who is thinking and praying for my mom everyday. I didn't realize how important it is to have your mom near until I had my own children. Thankfully I have a wonderful husband and very helpful in-laws.

On another note, the babies had their six month check up today and everything is going great! They gained about two pounds each and we have the go on all solids, which by the way is going much better. They got more shots and have responded well to them. I love everyday with them. I am the happiest Mommy ever!!!

And I finally got a picture of Luke's not one, but two new teeth.
