Dancing King

Luke enjoys dancing to any music he hears. We all dance together almost daily. Luke loves to carry the Santa around playing it over and over and OVER again. The Santa is cute the first few times, but Luke dancing is adorable every time.

A busy Christmas weekend

We had a wonderful, extremely busy Christmas weekend. The weekend was full of fun with family, playing in our first snow, a small road trip and a lots of wonderful gifts. They babies are so lucky to have so many wonderful loved ones and received way to many things from everyone. We are very thankful for everyone one of them (the people and the gifts).
Here are several pictures from our weekend. Merry Christmas!!!!

Visiting Santa

We finally had a chance to see Santa and overall it went quite well. Yes, the babies are in our laps and yes they did cry. They didn't freak out and scream, but just unsure about it. Although Santa was a good sport and tried to convince them to sit in his lap like big boys, we decided to take the picture with them. Carter was quick to say 'hi' and 'bye' to everyone with his all so cute backwards hand wave as Luke just stared at him not sure to play with him or cry. I'm sure Santa understands baby talk by now and will bring them the perfect gift.
I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!!!

Bedtime rituals

First of all I want to apologize for the video being sideways. I recorded it that way and can not figure out how to rotate it on my computer, but still wanted to share it. Maybe someone can offer some tips.
Each evening when we are putting the babies to bed, they have to each pull the chain on the fan 2 or 3 times practicing our counting, then they have to hit each lantern above their beds. This is something their dad started with them, but whether dad is home or not, they still remember to do it.

Oh goodness here we go!!

Not real sure how I feel about this one, but I guess I wasn't to worried since I took the time to get my camera to take a pic of it. I guess this is one part about having boys and living in the country. Jeff said he was 7 when he got first gun for Christmas. I think having an older brother is one reason he got one so young, and I think the other was cause he is a boy and lived in the country. They just go hand in hand. I will hold off as long as possible before I choose to purchase them for my boys, but until then they can practice with dad.

A day at the park

We finally had a break in the cold weather so we headed out to the park to get some fresh air. The babies played and ran more than I've ever seen them do. I think they may have had a bit of cabin fever from so many cold days in a row. The day was extra special having Daddy with us.

Luke and Carter really like playing in the bathtub. Some days it's the high-light of our evening. They have decided they don't like their afternoon nap anymore and tend to get pretty fussy by 5ish. I guess they are trying to go to one nap a day, but since I'm not ready for that yet I will keep fighting this battle. We get a lot achieved in the bathtub like they take their vitamins, Carter takes his medicine, they get their teeth brushed and of course we bathe them. Daddy is always fun to play with and bath time is no exception. We have gotten many great pictures and video clips in our little bathroom. They are silly no matter where they are.

Carter's first hair cut

Carter finally needed his first haircut. He had the most precious curls that started to look a little stringy so decided it was time to cut them off. I was sad to see the little baby curls go. He now looks like a little toddler rather than my sweet baby boy. As you can see, he cried the entire time. He sat still and did really well, just cried. I felt bad to the older man trying to enjoy a nice quite haircut seeming that Luke cried even louder and longer when it was his turn.

I love both of their little haircuts and love the way they look like such big boys. They are growing so fast and changing everyday.

I love you Luke and Carter!!

Colorado Springs Dec. 2009

Well here we are a year later. My mom left one year ago for her tour in Iraq and now is home safe and sound. We were so happy we were able to go to Colorado Springs again to be there for her arrival. It was a long wait and very hard to find her in the mosh of cameo, but once we did we felt relief to have her in our arms again.

We spent the days playing with Oma and enjoying the cold weather. We stayed in a hotel on post so every opportunity we had to play we took it. The walls of the hotel were closing in on us fast. We played with a little boy, who was also stay in the hotel and played at the little park.

Then we went to Castle Rock to visit my cousin from California. Her and her family moved there a few years ago so every time we go to visit my mom we always make a point to visit Katie. This year we spent the time preparing her for the arrival of her twin babies. I gave her all the advise I have and I'm not sure that will be enough. I am so excited that my closest cousin will be having twin just like I did. The babies enjoyed being in a new place and playing with all of Cousin Lauren's toys. We will be sad when my mom no longer lives in Co. Visiting Katie and her family will be much harder.
Katie had this jumper out so I had to put Luke in it. As most of you will remember he loved playing in his when he was smaller, and he loved it once again. He cried and cried when I took him out, which is right when we took the group pics.
We really enjoyed our trip and look forward to visiting Colorado again soon. The babies did very well on the long drive to and from. They didn't not do as well at the hotel or sleeping at night, but it was all well worth it.

Happy Thanksgiving

Another wonderful Thanksgiving put in the history books. We definitely enjoyed ourselves with a ton of fattening foods and lots of family time. I started the day with a 10K run along with 12,000 other people at the Ft. Worth Turkey Trot. I ran it with my old running buddy, Jocalyn, and I am proud to say we still have it in us after all these years and a few babies later. Great job Jocie!!
We are now looking forward to welcoming my mom back to the States after her year long tour in Iraq. We will be traveling to Colorado Springs where she will be arriving this weekend. I'm a little nervous about the 12 hour drive with the babies, but I know it will be well worth it once we get to hug our Oma again.

This is how my day starts each day--with two very silly boys. Carter is turning into quite the entertainer, at least for Luke and of course for all of us. Luke is always laughing at Carter which gives Carter encouragement to continue whatever it is that is getting him all the attention. They are so much fun to watch.

Sorry this video is a little long. I can't figure out how to edit it on my computer to shorten it. Good thing the entire thing is so darn cute.

2nd annual Thanksgiving pot luck playgroup

Today we attended a playgroup with our twins club. It was at our friends Wes and Evan's house. It was our 2nd annual pot luck Thanksgiving lunch, which was much different than our first one. Last year the babies just laid there while we ate our lunch, this year I don't think I really got to eat. They have so much fun playing with all their friends and it has been neat to watch all these babies grow together.

This is Carter after he grabbed the powder and decided to dump it all over himself. They always get things out of the basket on their changing table to hold while I get them diapered and dressed. I didn't realize tonight that the powder was left open. When I layed him back he turned the bottle over and poof a huge cloud of white powder. In his eyes, mouth, everywhere. My first reaction was to rescue him, but then I thought photo opt and a great blog post, of course after I wiped the powder out of his eyes. So here is my precious Carter covered in baby powder.

Trinity Train

What a beautiful weekend!! This is one of the reasons I love Texas, the wonderful fall weather. We decided to spend the weekend outside with a picnic and train ride. We started the morning attending the Train Show in Ft. Worth with our twin friends, Wes and Evan. Then we headed to the Trinity River for a picnic and ride the train. This was the babies first time on the Trinity train and they really seemed to enjoy the scenery and the sound of the train horn. They have even added another word to their vocabulary-'choo choo'. It was a nice relaxing ride through the park and along the river. By the end of the ride I think we all had heavy eyes and were ready for a nap.

Poor Luke AGAIN!!

My poor little Luke has been sick again. I decided not to take him to the doctor this time since his fever only got up to 102.2. I gave him his fill on Motrin and a ton of TLC. Luke is my baby who would rather be held than play so I think he was a little in heaven although he didn't feel well.
Sleep has been a little different around here the past few days as well. I have let him sleep anywhere he wants or will and usually that was on me. I was able to sneak away from him yesterday while he was napping and got this picture.
The way we knew he was starting to feel better is he was able to be apart from the mountains of blankets and stuffed animals. He is very possessive of his things anyway, but when he doesn't feel good he really is.
He ended up having Roselia and is now covered in a red rash. I am so happy my baby is feeling better.

Pajama's off in the night

This is what Luke looked like when he went to bed last night:

This is what he looked like this morning when I went to get him out of his bed:
I'm not really sure when this took place, but I'm just glad it stopped at the pajamas. I would of hated having to clean up the mess if he had gotten his diaper off. He must have eyes like a bat to see in his room at night. Sometimes I can hear him in there playing for up to an hour. Silly little baby!!

The Breast Cancer 3 Day

Well I did it!!! Every single mile. I am so proud of Andrea and myself for tackling such a powerful task and being successful 100%. First, we started walking in February and kept racking in the miles almost every weekend since. Then, we each raised more than $2,300 in no time flat. Finally, we walked 60 miles in 3 day, slept in tents and showered in 18 wheelers. I can honestly say it was worth every mile and every penny. We had such a wonderful experience and hope to walk again next year. Because Everyone Deserves a Lifetime.

Thank you to everyone who help me accomplish this goal.
