Luke's date with Mom

Jeff and I decided that we should start doing individual things with the babies. I have been taking them to some playgroups and it is always so crazy trying to chase two babies around while all the other mom's are relaxing holding their one. Not saying I wish I had one, but maybe this would be a good time to spend time with them individually. So we have decided we will alternate babies and spend time with them separately.
Last night Luke and I had our first official one on one date. We accompanied Luke's friend Wes and his mommy at the Botanical Gardens for the Concert in the Gardens. It was Led Zeppelin night and boy did we jam. I never knew the Ft. Worth Orchestra could sound so good. We had a great time sitting on the lawn eating our cold watermelon. The babies did wonderful considering it was very past their bed times. We left a few mins early to beat the crowd on the shuttles back to the parking lot. Once we got to the parking lot the fireworks started so we were able to see them after all. Another first for my little Lukie-fireworks. I think he really enjoyed watching them. Thank you Martha and Wes for the wonder evening and thank you to my little L for the best first date I've ever been one.

FWMOM Family Picnic

This evening we attended a picnic with our Mother of Multiples group. This year it was held at one of the member's back yards. She is one of a few members with triplets. Man I don't know how people do it with three. I know two seems like a lot a times, but at least there is usually two of us here to care for them. I'm not sure about triplets. Anyway, they are all a blessing.
They had everything for all ages of kids to play. We had all the smaller ones in a bounce house for a bit then off to explore the rest of the place. We had a great time and look forward to the next event with our multiples group.

Soo Cute!!

Luke and Carter playing with Dad's hat. They are so darn cute and so much fun.

Last night when I put the babies in their beds they still seem wide awake, but I knew it was time for sleep. I sat on the couch to start my nightly facebooking and e mails and could hear them playing in their beds. Then I heard little laughs. They continued back and forth along with their little jibber jabbers. It was so cute. I just sat and laughed at them laughing. I have been waiting for this moment. Actually one day I stood them each up in their beds and pointed across the room to brother so he would notice him. It didn't work that day, but they discovered it on their own last night. It must be so cool to have your best friend as your brother.

Happy Father's Day...

to the most wonderful dads in the world. Jeff and my own dad. When I was little I always thought of myself as a daddy's girl, then I became a teenager and I was dad, who? Today, I love him more than ever. He's a really good grill master and quite the handyman. He's so cool! I have always looked up to him. Happy Father's day Dad. Thanks for everything.
This is one of my fav pics with my dad.
This year Father's day was different for me. Now I have two precious little boys who have their daddy to look up to. I love watching the three of them interact together. I can tell how much Luke and Carter already respect their Daddy. I'm excited they get to grow up with such a wonderful role model like I did. Thank you Jeff for being the best Dad Luke and Carter could ever ask for. We love you more than you know. Thank you for taking care of our family.

Here are a few pictures of Jeff with L&C over the past year. They were so tiny.

Splish Splash

Today we went to our friends for a BBQ/pool party. The babies had a wonderful time splashing in the baby pool and swimming in the the big pool with all the kids. It was nice to get to spend the afternoon with all our old friends and soak in a few rays. Luke still loves kicking in the water, and I still think he is going to be the next Michael Phelps. Go Luke!!

Yeah for cousins!!

We love all our cousins!! This weekend our cousins Gavin and Mason came to stay with us. We always have so much fun with them. Gavin has finally figured out which baby is Luke and which is Carter. He told me 'it's just so hard cause they are both babies', but by the end of the evening he had it down. He is so darn cute, I can't believe how much he has grown in the past year. He's now a little boy. Mason is just so sweet to the babies. His main goal each time he sees them is to see which one he can make laugh first. He's a great helper. He helped with their bath and feeding them. Mason told me he was already ready for school to start back up. He has always really liked school, so I took an advantage of having him around and had him read books to the babies.
I am so thankful Mason and Gavin came to stay with us this weekend and I look forword to spending more time with them again soon.

Sporting the g diaper

These little pants are so darn cute and environment friendly. I got on to g pants when we were getting ready for our nine month pictures and Kristina suggested we take pictures of the babies in diaper covers. I searched for cute inexpensive diaper covers and came up with the g pant system, with a little help from my cousin, Brigid. G stands for green! You can either flush the liner or trash it. It is biodegradable so it stays in the land fields for a fraction of the time of a disposable one and they are fairly easy to use. The main down fall is they are a bit more expensive than disposable diapers, but if you get them on sale than it is well worth it. So we will see how it goes. We sure go through a lot of diapers so what little bit I could help, I will.

Hanging with DAD

Notice I put Dad instead of Daddy. It's because that's how I felt when I walked in from work today. If the babies could talk that's what they would be calling Jeff. The babies were in their high chairs eating dinner and for some reason they looked so big to me. Most of it had to be what they were wearing. Jeff and I have been in constant battle about the babies clothing. I like cute baby outfits and Jeff likes more grown up looking outfits. I agreed to buy these polo shirts a few months ago thinking they wouldn't wear them until the fall. Today was Daddy day while I worked and Jeff put the shirts on them. OH MY Goodness-so cute!! They looked so big! I can really tell lately that they are approching the one year mark. Their little faces are really starting to change and boy is their development. They are everywhere and can talk up a storm.

Congratulations to our Cousin Eric

After our travels to Hot Springs we turned around for another road trip to Paris, Texas. Friday night our youngest cousin graduated from High School. We drove down for the evening and had a really great time. We were happy to see Aunt Geri who has been spending all her time in Odessa with Joseph. Joseph was in a horrible rock climbing accident while camping with some college buddies during spring break. He is in good condition and on the road to recovery. It has been a long, rocky road thus far and we will keep praying for him and his family. Back to the graduation-I find it amusing listening to all these kids talk about how they can't wait to grad high school or college. Why? What is so great after college? Bills? Responsibility? Oh, my wonderful husband and adorable children. But really, we can't wait to grow up, but then we do and it only gets better. I just kept telling they to not wish their time away, it will be here before they know it.
We also got to see our Cousin Debbie as well. She is in the Navy and stationed in San Diego. We actually just saw her last month while we were there, but you can't ever get enough of Debbie. She made a last minute trip to see her little brother graduate and to surprise him with a trip back to San Diego for two weeks with her.
It was great to spend some time with our family. Good luck Eric and congratulations.

Our not so much camping, camping trip.

Every year we meet our friends in Arkansas for a long weekend of camping and family fun. This year ended up a bit different than the years in the past. Camping got cancelled and moved to Hot Springs due to all the camp site being under water from all the rain. We were still going to take our camper to set up at Jessica's grandparents so we would have a place out of every ones way to stay. We went to pick up our camper and someone, who we don't even know, decided to borrow it and hasn't returned it yet. In other words, it was stolen from our storage location. So no camper! We still went and stayed at Jessica's grandparents and had a wonderful time. There was a lake on one side of the house and a pool on the other. Everyday was filled with tons of activity-boating, fishing, swimming, cookouts, hiking, everything as if we were really camping. The babies did awesome and had so much fun with their little friend Ella who is just 4 weeks their senior. There was a total of 12 children there including the 3 babies. Talk about constant crazyness.
We are so thankful for Jessica's grandparents and family to welcome us into their beautiful home as if we were their own family. Can't wait until next year and hopefully a new camper.
